The Older Adult Inpatient services in North Somerset are looking for a fulltime substantive Specialty Doctor to join their team. This is covering a 10 bed functional ward and regional 14 bed Organic ward based at the Long Fox unit starting as soon as possible. The post is well supported and provides excellent opportunities for professional development in old age psychiatry and offers the chance to broaden knowledge and learn new clinical skills, including supporting the consultant with running ward rounds, MHA work and CPAs. There is ample opportunity locally to support both the post graduate tutor, who is also the supervising consultant, and the Clinical Leadership Mentor for AWP who is also based at Long Fox Unit. There may be the opportunity to join the out of hours full shift rota. There will be one hour of protected supervision with the supervising Consultant each week. There are also weekly journal clubs and academic meetings the post holder can attend.
