Main area Oncology Grade NHS AfC: Band 5 Contract Permanent Hours Full time: 37.5 Hours Per Week Job ref 409-2325993 Site St Helens Hospital Town St Helens Salary £24,214 - £30,112 Per Annum Closing 24/03/2020 23:59 Interview date 02/04/2020 An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Staff Nurse to join the dedicated team in The Lilac Centre, award winning chemotherapy day unit. Due to the success of the unit, we are expanding the team and currently plan to be providing services across 7 days of the week. The current operating hours are 8am -8pm Monday to Friday but will be gradually extended over time to accommodate clinics on Saturdays and Sundays. We are looking for people with an interest in chemotherapy and cancer who have a flexible approach to work and who possess excellent interpersonal and organisation skills, to work alongside our medical oncology and haematology teams. The role involves administering chemotherapy and other cancer treatments, promoting awareness and education of oncology issues and supporting patients and their families during a critical time in their cancer care. You will be supported by experienced chemotherapy nurses and training will be given to suit the needs of the successful applicant. The permanent contract will provide you with an opportunity to gain new skills and experience within a busy chemotherapy day unit. Applications are invited from Registered Nurses with the following: 6 months post-registration experience and / or experience in oncology/haematology nursing ENB 998 or equivalent Evidence of cancer related study Chemotherapy qualification is desirable but not essential as training will be provided An Enhanced DBS, with the checking of the Children’s and Adults’ Barred List is required for this post. There are 2 positions available – 1 x Full Time Permanent Position & 1 x 30 Hour Fixed Term (12 Months) Position (Secondment opportunity may be available for internal staff only).
